Call for nominations

As a member of the Credit Union, you are also an owner. You have the right to elect the Board of Directors.

Credit Union Board Directors are volunteers, elected by our membership during the Annual Meeting. They are responsible for overseeing the Credit Union’s operations, strategic decisions, and for ensuring the Credit Union is financially stable.

Serving as a Board Director for Destinations Credit Union can be of great value, providing some of the following benefits:

  • The opportunity to participate in a unique organization.

Credit unions differ from banks and other financial institutions. They are member owned and operate for the benefit of the membership’s financial wellbeing.

  • Becoming a representative voice for our members.

As a Director, you play a pivotal role in providing solutions to our members’ financial needs. You have a say in the direction the Credit Union is taking.

  • As a resource for personal growth.

Service on the Board offers the chance for enhancing current knowledge and skills regarding financial operations and the credit union movement through potential training events or conferences.

  • Providing a path for career advancement.

A seat on a Board can be viewed as a respected position, offering notable qualifications for resumes.

The Nominating Committee is seeking and actively recruiting interested and qualified members to serve on the Board. Up to three incumbent three-year terms will be open for the 2025 election.

The Nominating Committee requires a Director to be a member in good standing for at least 2 years and be 18 years or older with qualified experience. If any applicant is not nominated by the Nominating Committee as a candidate for the Board of Directors, the applicant may seek nomination by a petition signed by a minimum of one percent of the members in good standing.

If you are interested, please visit our web site at www.destinationscu.org and click on the News & Events link under the About Us tab on our home page to download the application, or you may contact Sonia Hart at 410-663-2500 ext. 134 or via e-mail at shart@destinationscu.org. She will provide application materials.

The deadline for applications is Friday, December 20, 2024. Nominations from the floor will not be accepted during the Annual Meeting. If there are more than three candidates for the open seats, a ballot will be sent to all qualified members.

Election results will be announced at the Annual Meeting on March 20, 2025.
